The formats on sale

FormatWhat arrivesMade for
Lyophilised vialA freeze-dried powder under a stopperLaboratory work, after reconstitution
Pre-mixed vialThe peptide in solution, sealedLaboratory work, with no preparation
Capsules and tabletsThe peptide with fillers, in a swallowable formA person to take by mouth
Nasal sprayA solution in a spray bottleA person to use

UK medicines law looks at how a product is presented as well as what is in it. A vial of a defined compound with a certificate of analysis is a laboratory material. A capsule, a tablet or a nasal spray is a form designed for a person to take, and a product presented for human use without a licence is an unlicensed medicine.

BPC-157 is not a licensed medicine in the UK. That is why we supply it as a research vial and in no other form. Are peptides legal in the UK? covers the framework.

Where “oral BPC-157” comes from

The interest in oral forms has a real origin in the literature. BPC-157 is a fragment of a protein first described in gastric juice, and the research group that has published most of the work on it reports the peptide as stable in that environment. Many of the animal studies gave it by mouth, often in drinking water, alongside studies that used injection.

That is a finding about animal models. It is not evidence about any capsule or tablet on sale, and nothing here is a claim about what the compound does in a person.

What to check, whatever the format

  1. 01
A stated massThe label should say how much BPC-157 the unit contains, in milligrams.
  2. 02
A certificate for the batchA certificate of analysis carrying the batch number on the product, from a laboratory other than the seller.
  3. 03
Identity as well as purityHPLC gives the purity figure. Mass spectrometry confirms the molecule is BPC-157 and not something of similar weight.
  4. 04
No promisesClaims about results in people tell you how the seller regards the law, and usually how they regard quality control.

Capsules and tablets are the hardest format to verify, because the peptide is mixed with fillers. Reading a batch certificate explains what a certificate should show.

Lyophilised or pre-mixed

Between the two vial formats the choice is practical. A lyophilised vial keeps longest unopened and has to be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use. A pre-mixed vial arrives in solution at a fixed concentration and must stay refrigerated. Peptide pens and vials compares them in full.
