Who we are
This site is operated by Hello Peptides. We are a sole trader, not a limited company, so we have no company number.
You can reach us at info@hellopeptides.co.uk, or through the contact page. We answer within one working day, Monday to Friday.
We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on your order and no VAT invoice can be issued.
These terms
These terms apply to every order you place with us and to your use of this site. Please read them before you order. By placing an order you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not order.
Some of what follows applies only if you are a consumer, meaning you are buying as an individual and not for a business. Where that is the case it is said so. Given what we sell, most of our customers buy for a business, an institution or a laboratory.
Research use only
This is the term that governs everything else, so it is set out at length.
- Our products are research chemicals supplied for in-vitro laboratory research by qualified personnel.
- They are not medicinal products. They hold no marketing authorisation, they have not been assessed for safety or efficacy in humans or animals, and they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything.
- They must not be administered to humans or to animals, by any route, in any quantity, for any reason.
- They must not be resold, repackaged or supplied onward for human or veterinary use, or described to anyone else as fit for it.
- We give no dosing information, no protocols and no advice on use in humans or animals, and we cannot be drawn into doing so. If you ask, we will decline.
You are responsible for handling, storing, using and disposing of what you buy safely and lawfully, including under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 and any rules that apply to your own premises, profession or institution. Our guides describe laboratory handling only.
We may refuse or cancel any order, at any point before dispatch, without giving a reason. We will always refuse one where we have reason to believe the products are intended for human or veterinary use.
Who can order
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be ordering for legitimate laboratory research, and you must have the facilities, training and competence to handle research chemicals safely.
- You must not be subject to any restriction that prevents you buying these products where you are.
- The details you give us must be accurate, and the delivery address must be one you are entitled to use.
By ordering you warrant each of those things. If any of them is untrue, we may cancel the order and refuse to deal with you again.
How an order becomes a contract
- 01You place an orderYour order is an offer to buy. Nothing is agreed yet, and we may still refuse it.
- 02We acknowledge itYou get an email confirming we have received it, with an order number. This is an acknowledgement, not an acceptance.
- 03We accept itThe contract between us begins when we email to say your order has been dispatched. If we cannot accept it we tell you and refund anything you have paid.
Please check your order before you submit it. If you spot a mistake afterwards, email us straight away and we will change it if the parcel has not gone.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling and include any tax that applies. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added at checkout.
- Delivery is charged on top and is shown before you pay.
- If you have chosen a region other than the UK, prices are converted for display only and are marked as approximate. Your order is charged in pounds sterling, and the checkout states the sterling amount that will leave your account. Your bank may add its own conversion fee, which we do not see and do not control.
- We take payment by bank transfer. Card and open banking are not available yet. You will see our account details and your order number to use as the reference once the order is placed.
- Your order is held until the payment clears, and is dispatched after it does. If it has not cleared within seven days we may cancel the order.
- Discount codes apply to the products in your bag, not to delivery, and one code at a time.
Prices can change, but never after we have accepted your order. If a price is obviously wrong, we will tell you before dispatch and you can confirm the corrected price or cancel for a full refund. We will not hold you to an obvious error.
Delivery
We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom. Services, costs, dispatch times and what to do if a parcel arrives warm are set out in full on our shipping and returns page, which forms part of these terms.
- Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- The goods become yours, and your responsibility, when they are delivered to the address you gave us.
- If nobody is there and the parcel is returned to us, we may charge the cost of sending it again. Cold chain matters, so we would rather you told us a better date than risk it.
- If something outside our control delays a delivery, we will tell you and do what we reasonably can. Where the delay is substantial you can cancel and be refunded for anything not delivered.
Cancelling and returning
If you are a consumer, you have 14 days from the day you receive the goods to change your mind, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You do not have to give a reason. Tell us by email within that time, then send the goods back within 14 days of telling us.
- Unopened goods, with seals intact, sent back at your cost: refunded in full, including the standard delivery you originally paid.
- Opened or unsealed goods: not returnable, for the reason above.
- Faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered: we pay the return postage and either replace it or refund you in full, whichever you prefer.
- Refunds go back the way you paid, within 14 days of us receiving the goods or of your proof of return, whichever is sooner.
If you are buying for a business, the statutory right to change your mind does not apply to you. We will still accept a return of unopened, seal-intact goods within 14 days at our discretion, and your rights over faulty or wrongly supplied goods are unaffected.
Nothing here affects your legal rights over goods that are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose.
Specification and certificates
Every batch is assayed by an independent laboratory before it is released, and its certificate of analysis travels with the order and is published in our certificate library under the batch number printed on the label.
- The certificate describes the batch you received. It is the specification we are held to.
- Purity figures are those measured by the testing laboratory, by the method named on the certificate, within that method's stated tolerance.
- Photographs on this site are illustrative. Labels, batch numbers and presentation can differ between batches.
- If a delivered batch does not meet the certificate supplied with it, tell us and we will replace it or refund you.
Accounts
- You do not need an account to order, but if you have one, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that is used to breach these terms, particularly the research-use restriction.
Affiliates and referrals
Our affiliate programme has its own conditions, set out on the affiliates page, and every application is reviewed by hand. Affiliates must not make health claims, must not present our products as fit for human or veterinary use, and must not bid on our brand name in paid search. We may withhold commission and close an account for any of those.
Referrals are credited using a single cookie holding a referral code, for 30 days, and only if you have allowed it in cookie settings. If you have not, the referral is simply not credited.
Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and, for consumers, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
Subject to that, and because of what these products are and are not for:
- We accept no liability of any kind for loss, injury, illness or damage arising from a product being administered to a human or an animal, or from any use other than in-vitro laboratory research. That use is prohibited by these terms, and it is outside anything we can foresee or control.
- We are not liable for loss caused by your failure to store, handle or dispose of a product properly, or to comply with the rules that apply to your own premises or profession.
- If you are buying for a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of data or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
- If you are a consumer, we are liable for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care, but not for anything unforeseeable.
You agree to indemnify us against any claim brought against us because you used, supplied or described a product contrary to these terms.
This site and its content
- The text, photography, design and code on this site belong to us or to our licensors. You may read, print and share pages for your own reference, but not republish them commercially or present them as your own.
- Our guides are general information about laboratory handling. They are not advice, and they are not instructions for any use in humans or animals.
- We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change or withdraw any part of it.
Your data
What we do with your personal information is set out in our privacy policy, and what this site stores in your browser is set out in our cookie policy. Both form part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, so what you agreed to cannot be changed afterwards. The date at the top of this page is when it last changed.
Complaints, and the law that applies
If something has gone wrong, email info@hellopeptides.co.uk with your order number and we will look into it. We aim to reply within one working day and to resolve a complaint within 14 days.
- We do not subscribe to an alternative dispute resolution scheme. If we cannot settle a complaint between us, the courts can decide it.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring a claim in the courts there as well as in England and Wales. If you are buying for a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Other terms
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under a contract to another business. Your rights will not be affected, and we will tell you.
- You may not transfer your rights under a contract without our written agreement.
- A contract is between you and us. Nobody else can enforce it.
- If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest carries on.
- If we delay enforcing a term, we can still enforce it later.
